Why I love BBC7:
"Coming up next, another impenetrable mystery only penetrable by Sherlock Holmes, THE PENETRATOR!"

Why I love my Japanese class:
Sensei: *fishing for people to ask questions to* "Who here has a boyfriend or girlfriend?"
*ADD Kid raises his hand*
Sensei: "Tomasu-san?!"
ADD Kid: "What?"
Sensei: "I thought you said you broke up!"
ADD Kid: "Well... that was before... you know what nevermind!"
Sensei: "Ok so who has current girlfriend or boyfriend? And not imaginary"
ADD Kid: "......"
Class: "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE."

This was after he and his friend asked "How do you say 'get shitfaced'?" so he was asking for it.

I should make some new clips of these shows sometime soon. There's been some brilliant bits and I haven't posted any in a while. Hmmm.

The be honest, in fanfic he's surprisingly more often the penetrated than the penetrator and oh GOD I can't believe I just typed that sentence.

....*DIES*

I can't see Holmes as the penetrated so much, actually. Sure he probably take turns but he'd rather find a way to penetrate Watson rather than have Watson penetrate him.. I think. =o I really need to find the books... I've lost where they were at Hastings.. again TT

it's a role reversal thing, Holmes is a bit of a control freak so it's fun to see him well... not. Plus, it's implied he's not terribly experience so that makes it up to Watson to ... well... yes. ^^;

My Japanese studies so far have been limited to my own wading through "Japanese for Busy People (Kana version)" and Kodansha's Hirigana Japanese Dictionary.

Seeing as how where I live, people don't understand that I want to learn the language and work for some big company as a translator/culture consultant someday. Rarrrgh.

My best friend has gotten a bit farther than I (I forwarded her your question about writing 'Sherlock Holmes' in Japanese--she agreed that since we don't even pronounce the 'l' there's no extra 'ru' which makes it 'Sherokku Homzu'). She's actually started learning some kanji, but I haven't even attempted to do anything like that. *le sigh*

We're using the same book, although the english version, not the kana one. I actually really don't like the format of it, how the vocabulary is spread out all over the entire lesson rather than in one place. It makes studying more difficult than it needs to be.

My class doesn't start in on Kanji until next semester and I'm simultaneously excited and terrified. I'm excited to get farther along and to be able to read more than just kana but it's scary and intimidating o.o
