Why I love BBC7:
"Coming up next, another impenetrable mystery only penetrable by Sherlock Holmes, THE PENETRATOR!"
Why I love my Japanese class:
Sensei: *fishing for people to ask questions to* "Who here has a boyfriend or girlfriend?"
*ADD Kid raises his hand*
Sensei: "Tomasu-san?!"
ADD Kid: "What?"
Sensei: "I thought you said you broke up!"
ADD Kid: "Well... that was before... you know what nevermind!"
Sensei: "Ok so who has current girlfriend or boyfriend? And not imaginary"
ADD Kid: "......"
Class: "EEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEE."
This was after he and his friend asked "How do you say 'get shitfaced'?" so he was asking for it.
I should make some new clips of these shows sometime soon. There's been some brilliant bits and I haven't posted any in a while. Hmmm.

Date: 2006-03-20 05:30 pm (UTC)Seeing as how where I live, people don't understand that I want to learn the language and work for some big company as a translator/culture consultant someday. Rarrrgh.
My best friend has gotten a bit farther than I (I forwarded her your question about writing 'Sherlock Holmes' in Japanese--she agreed that since we don't even pronounce the 'l' there's no extra 'ru' which makes it 'Sherokku Homzu'). She's actually started learning some kanji, but I haven't even attempted to do anything like that. *le sigh*
